Ages 16 to adult

Step is a multi-tiered life skills program for older teens and adults. It focuses on the participant’s transition from schoolwork to gainful employment. Each individual is placed in the tier that best fits his or her current needs and level of functioning. A strength-based approach is employed to maximize independence and productivity.

Tier 1 Offers intensive academic support, IEP, detailed daily progress reports, quarterly reviews 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, weekdays

  • On-campus job training
Tier 2 For the individual who has advanced beyond the need for academic support 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, weekdays (may vary based on work schedule)
  • Social, leisure, and recreation
  • Independent living

  • Off-campus job training
Tier 3 Focuses on integrated employment placement. Job placement and training are based on individual interest, mastery of prerequisite skills, and employer availability Based on work schedule Based on work schedule
